the organization

Develop the organization, and start with autonomy

More and more organizations are looking for other ways to manage and organize, rather than a traditional management hierarchy. Self-organization is one of the possible alternatives. Starting from each individual’s autonomy sounds attractive, but does it work in practice? How suitable is Holacracy for us? Can we also start on a small scale and see if we like it? And what is our next step if we want to continue working with the existing decision structure?

Full potential

We guide change processes in organizations, using Holacracy, Spiral Dynamics and True Purpose coaching. We see organizational development as the process in which the goal is to make the full potential available. That process takes place in a dynamic between three levels (personal-team- organization as a whole). We make organizations and the people who work there more ‘awake’, so to speak, by bringing them into contact with their desires and inner vitality.
Examples of our work in organizational development include. NRG Circles, Your Environment and the HBB Group.

Three pillars

We feel an affinity with the work of Laloux, who identifies self-organization, wholeness, and purpose as three pillars for organizational development. Self-organization is the realization that working from a certain autonomy, with clear responsibilities and explicit boundaries, often does more justice to everyone’s mature contribution than a hierarchical structure with managers.
Wholeness refers to the realization that everyone is equal and can contribute to organizational goals in their own particular way, and that all those contributions matter, including the deeper underlying motivations of the emotional person behind the rational professional. Purpose is about the essence of an organization and encompasses more than an understood mission and vision. Living and working from the purpose of an organization gives energy, meaning and inspiration to employees and customers as well as a clear position in society. Within these three areas we are licensed and certified: as certified Holacracy® coaches, we guide Holacracy adoptions (self-organization), we provide Spiral Dynamics® training at all levels, including certification (wholeness). Our True Purpose® coaching focuses on both individuals and organizations (purpose).

“The Holacracy Taster is very valuable as a short ‘taster’, containing a nice mix of knowledge and experience. That made it a fascinating and lively whole! I really liked the simulation of atactical meeting, because it gave me a taste of what it means to think and work together based on roles.”

Adopting Holacracy

Are you thinking of adopting Holacracy or another form of self-organization? We can lead that change process in the right direction. Some organizations promote the immediate replacement of the existing management model in its entirety, while others prefer to work modularly.

Working with Holacracy requires distancing yourself from old habits, implicit agreements, and implicit expectations. At the same time, it brings energy and freedom. Everyone is ‘the boss’ of his or her own role; however, this applies only to their own work, and not to other people. This newly acquired freedom comes with specific, explicit rules.

We guide the adoption and implementation process of Holacracy in the right direction. Some organizations choose to immediately replace the existing management model in its entirety, whereas others prefer to work modularly. For example, they first adopt only the efficient meeting structures or they get a taste of what it’s like to redesign functions and turn them into roles with purpose and accountabilities.

Tension = fuel

Holacracy® is a set of rules for the governing, decision-making and structuring of organizations. Typical features are role-based operations, efficiency in tactical and governance meetings, and equal authority. A daily constant for organizations working with Holacracy is the sensing and processing of tensions: a problem, difference of opinion or opportunity is seen as a tension, and these can serve as fuel in the development of an organization.

Personal Purpose Quest

The Personal Purpose Quest (PPQ) has been designed for professionals who want to live and work from their core and are curious about their calling. They are often changemakers, people who passionately want to play a role in the transitions to a more sustainable, social and humane world.

Purpose means essence or higher calling. Living and working from your personal purpose provides energy, meaning, fulfillment, enrichment and inspiration. It answers the questions ‘why am I here and what do I have to do?’.

The Personal Purpose Quest offers you:

  • A manifestation plan to put your personal purpose into the world.
  • Insight into the limiting beliefs that stand in your way, and tools to deal with them.
  • A method to adjust your personal purpose from time to time.
  • Direction, focus, passion and energy. You’ll start to make (everyday and long-term) choices that serve you.
  • A flawlessly working inner compass.

Program Purpose Quest

The program consists of a number of steps in which you discover, experience and formulate your purpose and manifestation plan. Different working methods are discussed, such as creative visualizations, reversing limiting thoughts and working with inner and universal wisdom. We’ll cover all aspects of your purpose. Of course we’ll also take time to answer your questions. During 3 to 4 months we work together intensively, in 10 to 12 sessions of 1,5 hours. In between you will be given appropriate homework.

“This process is a valuable investment, especially for people who already have some life experience and self-reflection. The search for your purpose is a continuous process that only becomes really valuable when you feel that you are ready for it.””

- Reinout van Asbeck

“I’ve had 2 major paradigm shifts that have fundamentally changed my life. The first was actually feeling full self-love and the second this trajectory. Namely to know who you are deep down and what you have to do in life. How to organize this life knowing that you are doing the right things that suit you and are good for the world.”

- Jonathan Guyt

“The Purpose Quest is a valuable journey that puts you in touch with your trusted source and your purpose. It has a big impact on your life if you have the guts to listen to yourself and your trusted source and apply this in your life. You will never be the same again just because you dare to be yourself.”

- Rindert Bijleveld
